Server Administrator – Cloud & Hosting engineer

We are looking for a skilled Server Administrator (Cloud Engineer) to manage, maintain, and optimize our cloud and server infrastructure. The role is responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and performance across our production and staging environments.

You will work hands-on with Linode cloud infrastructure, Linux servers, and WHM / cPanel with CloudLinux, hosting over 250 client websites across 6 servers. Most sites have low traffic, with some WooCommerce environments requiring higher resource allocation and performance optimization.

This is a full-time, office-hours role (Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00).

The ideal candidate is hands-on, reliable, and comfortable working independently in the terminal, with ownership over infrastructure decisions while reporting progress and changes to management.

• Manage and maintain Linode cloud infrastructure, ensuring uptime, performance, and scalability
• Administer Linux servers, including installation, configuration, updates, and security hardening
• Manage WHM / cPanel & CloudLinux environments, including hosting accounts, backups, and migrations
• Optimize server resources for WooCommerce and performance-sensitive websites
• Handle client website migrations between servers and environments
• Recommend and implement scaling strategies and cost optimizations
• Configure and maintain web servers such as Apache, Nginx, or similar
• Manage DNS, SMTP, and email deliverability issues
• Set up and maintain Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, including domain verification and troubleshooting
• Configure and manage firewalls, security rules, and access controls
• Monitor infrastructure and respond to incidents when needed
• Document changes, configurations, and procedures clearly for internal use
• Independently apply configuration changes while reporting actions and outcomes to management
